Am I Nuts? Another freelance writing opportunity
Earlier this morning I was scouring the net for yet another blogging job related to Mac technology and I discovered a gem. I’ve been reading this website even before I made the switch to Mac. It’s a Mac only website.
A few weeks ago they posted an entry that they were looking for additional writers, and somehow, I overlooked them. I’ve watched this website grow from a small blog when they couldn’t pay their writers to a website that gets over 500,000 readers monthly and it continues to grow. The writers are knowledgeable about Macs, and their readers regularly comment on the post written.
A blog writer’s dream, or at least this blog writer’s dream, getting feedback for what I’ve written. I cannot complain the new website where I’m writing for has a chatty bunch. Naturally, I respond to the comments that are left on my posts. It’s just the polite thing to do you know. Everyone wants to be heard, and I want my readers to know that I am listening.

Did you go ahead and apply? If you do, I wish you the best! I’m sure they’ll think they’re the ones who found the gem–you!
Congrats on all this success!
*Oh, pardon me… had to wipe the dust out of my eyes!*
Girl, you’re leaving us in your dust! Ha ha!

Michele,
Yes, I applied it’s a long shot. The job was posted the first week in May, but I decided to go for it. If they have already hired the writers at least I made a connection and I’ll definitely be on it (if I’m available) when they hire again.
Thanks for the positive words I’ve always been a “little scrapper” I see something I want and go for it. That nickname happens to be my smallest ferrets nickname as well.
You’ve done well I’ve been impressed with the articles you have written all over the cyber highway.
I think it’s awesome that you went ahead and applied, Opal! I’ve read that potential employers don’t always choose the people who apply as soon as the writing job is advertised. Sometimes it takes them weeks, or even months, to weed through the e-mails before they find that ‘perfect’ writer. Let’s hope your query comes out on top and ’sparkles’!
Wow, that’s quite a compliment you gave me there–thanks!

Michele,
The turn over with some blog writing jobs is high so I believe they will be hiring soon if they haven’t already. However, they do put out feelers for new writers a few times yearly so if I don’t make it this time I’ll definitely submit my application as soon as it is announced the next time.
I’ve added them to my RSS feed. I had them, but somehow they got dropped which explains why I missed the announcement. I easily have over 200 websites in my feed.
Well all need to receive compliments and you do an excellent job with your writing. I enjoy reading what you have to write.
Thanks, Opal! I’m honored that you enjoy my writing. Of course, I always love reading your inspiring words too!
I’m sure you’ll catch their next announcment.
Over 200 fees? Whew, that’s a lot! I wish we could add more hours to the day, don’t you?!

Michele,
At times I do wish there were more hours in the day, lol. However for the most part I’ve finally settled into a routine where everything is getting completed and that has a lot to do my resolve to “just be myself” when I write for tech websites.
Well, you know I had to check it out. Nice place you have over here, Ms. Opal! I’m sure it is going to turn out nicely for you. Sure you start small but it won’t be long before it is growing like a weed. Congratulations again.
