Addicted To Writing: Minor Updates

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be making updates to addicted to writing. Tomorrow, I’ll hit the two-week mark for addicted to writing. Funny it seems as if I’ve been writing on here a lot longer. I have written a fair amount of posts.

New Page Added

A new page that I’ve added feature some of my freelance writing samples. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be adding additional places where my work is published online. I’ll also be adding .pdf samples of my work.

It’s Arrived!
Writers Market 2008Writers Market 2008 arrived in the mail yesterday, and I was able to briefly flip through it. It’s chock full of information, and it will be on my to do list for this weekend. Over the past few weeks I’ve ordered twelve books on freelance writing and I also picked up a grammar book. Although there are more books, I would like to purchase I’ll hold off for now. I have plenty to keep my busy for quite some time.

I really enjoy writing and am happy with the projects I’ve received. I have fabulous clients which makes it even better. Wanting to provide the best service that I possibly can to them I’m always looking for ways to improve my skills. One of the books I bought focuses on copywriting and another is focused on white papers. I’m always looking for ways to improve my skills so I do see some type of writing course in the future.

Question: How have you improved your writing skills?

Congratulations Opal. I’m looking forward to reading some of your finished articles.

How have I improved my writing? Just by writing every day, I suppose. And when I get stuck - I freewrite, or get out of the house.

Catherine,

Thanks! You can view quite a few of my articles by going to my writings samples page. The first link is Vitamins & Stuff and that lists all the articles I have completed for my client. It’s an ongoing project.

Another Marylander told me to get in the habit of writing daily. She suggested I write longhand. I listened. It helped me out tremendously. She’s a published author. Her name is Angel Shannon, and her book is titled, “And Then There Were Butterflies.”

Oh by the way the book, The Artists Way, arrived in the mail today. Thank you so much for the recommendation. I’ll be reading it this week.
